Sunday Morning Home Decor Gifts
The kitchen is important to all family members. It is where the house’s action occurs, as opposed to the bedrooms or entertainment rooms, where relaxation and passivity occurs. Yesterday I made a delicious omelet with my sister. We made sure that we were preparing all of the vegetables correctly. Unfortunately I was given the painful job of chopping a red onion. My eyes burned and watered, but I was resilient.
When the omelet was looking still kind of wet, my mother walked into the kitchen, holding a decorative vase, and doing some summer cleaning. “Put a lid on it,” she said. “But I didn’t say anything!” “The omelet, dufus!”
Moms know everything, from where decorative vases look best, to how to make a kitchen beautiful with home decor gifts, so of course I listened. With the lid on, the omelet, which now resembled an egg and vegetable cake, cooked through, and caramelized on the outside. I waited, watching steam rise from beneath the pan, and soon we were ready to eat.
We moved to the kitchen table – the decorative vase held sunflowers, red berries and other oxygen respirating green plants – and enjoyed a delicious Sunday brunch as an active family.
